Sanctions and Approvals made easy
Noida's 'single-window' clearance system eliminates red tape and bureaucratic hassles while maximising transparency in dealings. Problems are resolved promptly and sanctions and approvals given well in time. All assistance is also provided in securing permissions, licences, sanctions and approvals from other government bodies and agencies, in minimum time.

The Infrastructure
Roads - Wide and smooth roads crisscross Noida and connect it to Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and other neighbouring towns.
Power - Power supply is uninterrupted. Release of power is in time and the sanctioned load is always commensurate with requirement keeping future demands in view. The existing power infrastructure is undergoing massive expansion with additional sub-stations and capacity.
Water - Water supply is adequate and has been supplemented by water from the River Ganga. An ambitious plan is also under way to set up rain-water harvesting facilities in Noida as an alternate source through advanced and indigenous technology.
Communications - Digital and optical fibre- based telecommunication facilities are the key to local call connectivity with Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and other neighbouring towns, at reduced communication cost. Plans are under consideration for bringing more towns into the local connectivity network.
Law and order - The police force has built a reputation for actively maintaining round-the- clock vigilance, making law and order a matter of minimal public concern.
Professionals and skilled manpower - As skilled manpower and professionals are available locally, manpower hiring costs are reduced. However, when necessary, they can be hired from Delhi because of the proximity and excellent transportation facilities.

Special Area Schemes
Strong economies must have substantial international presence and a positive balance of trade. With an eye on this and as a further impetus to the process of industrial development, special area schemes like Noida Export Processing Zone (NEPZ), Software Technology Park (STP) were initiated in Noida. Reserved for 100% export-oriented units, these schemes also offer several other incentives to entrepreneurs.

Noida Export Processing Zone (NEPZ):
Set up in 1985 by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, this special area is one of the country's seven export processing zones and the only one located off shore. As India's fastest growing special economic zone, this home to diverse industries like electronics, textiles, engineering and computer software recorded an export turnover of Rs. 4,266 crore in 2004-2005. On-site customs clearance, warehouse with clearing and forwarding facilities, nationalised banks and a post office are also functioning here.

Software Technology Park (STP)
Spread over 4000 sq. mts in Sector 29, the STP was established for the development and export of computer software and professional services using data communication lines in the form of physical media. Its export turnover of Rs. 3,825 crore in 2004-05 ranks second in the country.


Objective:
To build such infrastructure resources as data communication, core computer facilities, structure creation and common amenities.
To provide services for exporting Indian import certifications, software evaluation and project approval to users.
To provide development of software and software services. To train professional and encourage R&D.;

Facilities:
Single-window clearance. 100% foreign equity. Duty-free imports including telematic infrastructure. Re-export of capital goods permitted. Datacom services in and around Delhi and Noida through its own satellite Earth station.

Film Centre
In order to boost the film industry in Uttar Pradesh, the thriving Film City of Noida was established in 1988 in consultation with celebrated film producers of Mumbai and Chennai. With a turnover of over Rs. 28 crore per annum, it has 21 plots covering approximately 98,600 sq.mtrs, allotted to 13 film studios belonging to renowned film and TV producers: Aditya Film (P) Ltd., B.K.P. Media Vision, Brahma Studio, Century Communication Ltd., Cine Images & Entertainment (P) Ltd., Eagle Films, First Channel India Ltd., Marwah Studio, Padmini Tele Media Ltd., Prasad Productions (P) Ltd., Romesh Films (P) Ltd., Super Cassettes Industries, V Telefilm Ltd.

Target product segments and proposed facilities
The major thrust as identified for the park are telecommunications, consumer electronics and computer software related downstream industry and organisations engaged in R&D related to information technology or having a close business interaction with the software and hardware segments could also be accommodated.
